THE WANDERER - experimental short

 "No detachment of frame is possible" - Marshall McLuhan

This video aimed to explore the idea that through, technology we can traverse time. My idea was to have two cameras of different qualities/ages and have a figure move between them, with the lens of the camera representing time itself. The quality difference did not end up being quite as noticeable as I had hoped so I had to edit the image a bit to make it appear older than it actually was. The audio is slowed down and reverse to accentuate how unnerving the idea of moving through time effortlessly actually is. McLuhan says that we can never fully escape the "frame" as what we are viewing is always inherently inside it. The titular "wanderer" in this short moves between frames but is never able to be free from them.
